In what is a nice bit of news for web development, Adobe is showcasing some new tools which allow for better typography on the Web. Here’s a link to a Wired article on the new features:

“Adobe Envisions Brave New World of Web Layouts with CSS Regions”

In brief, this allows for more flexibility in web design and makes it easier to mimic the styles seen in print — wrapping text around or inside objects, photos, etc. As much as digital media has replaced print media, electronic layouts are still working on solutions to make it as readable and visually appealing as its print counterparts. And with the growing demand for tablets and mobile devices — and the need to create a more attractive digital media experience on those devices — having more tools and capabilities such as these new CSS Regions is a welcome enhancement.

Can’t wait to try it out.
