Social Sharing value

At Haley, the social media team preaches the value of social sharing. If you’re not sure what social sharing really means, then this post is for you.

Social sharing, on a basic level, is taking content, whether from your website or an outside resource, and sharing it with your connections on social media. If you think this sounds simple, it’s because it really is. Once you make social sharing a normal part of your routine, you’ll be amazed at how easy is it and how great the results you will see are. So what are the next steps?

The What.

Whether you realize it or not, you have content to share. If your company blogs, this makes for awesome content that you can continue to share and re-share over time. Top pages on your website can be shared as a resource. Hot jobs and top candidate postings make for great content on some social media platforms. Industry news you read can be shared as a discussion point. Truly, the options are endless.

The Where.

If your company doesn’t have a social presence, now is the time to start building one. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+ are the most popular social sites that allow you to connect with your industry, including potential clients and candidates. Setting up both a personal presence, as well as a company presence, are great ways to create new and maintain existing relationships.

The How.

When sharing content, the best way to do so is by manually posting on a regular basis. You want to show you are active on these social platforms, and continuously share relevant content that others find interesting and beneficial.

Creating a regular routine – dedicating a few minutes at the beginning or end of each day or week to social sharing – can result in a great impact. Encouraging your entire company to do the same will amplify the results.
