Top Marketing Articles of 2015

Since January 1, 2015 I’ve published 28 articles on the Haley Marketing Group blog. And, while I could get into the benefits of blogging and the positive results this has yielded, I’ll leave that for another article.

With 2016 a few days away I wanted to reflect more on the personal journey that came with creating 28 pieces of content this year before reviewing my best blog posts from 2015.

90 Posts in 90 Days

In May our team set a goal of publishing 90 blog posts over 90 days. As a team we crushed the goal…on a personal level this challenge lit a fire in me I didn’t know existed.

Over the 90 day challenge I published 8 blog articles. More importantly, what began as a way to show I was pulling my weight grew into a passion I didn’t know existed. When the 90 in 90 challenge was nearing an end, I decided to set a personal goal of publishing 1 blog article every week until 2016.

This blog is my chance to say I accomplished that goal.

Not every post was easy, but I’ve learned that as you continue writing, the process starts to refine itself and become more manageable.

Writing at night doesn’t bother me, in fact it’s incredibly relaxing. But, instead of working on an article the night before it’s due, I’ve learned to incorporate a content calendar to work ahead and on schedule.

I’ve also learned to rely on my team for ideas, proofing, and creative support. The Haley Marketing team truly is one of the best around and each individual person has their own specialties. Instead of taking it all upon myself, I’ve learned to source individuals where they excel. Ultimately this has saved me a ton of time, and made my content significantly better.

What Does This Mean For You?

If I can do it…so can you. Everybody’s busy, but that can’t be an excuse. If driving qualified leads back to your website is important to you, then develop a schedule that works for you and start creating content.

Best Blog Posts 2015 – My Top 5 Most-Viewed Articles

Your Social Media Wake Up Call

“Your Social Media Wake Up Call” is the first to make my list of best blog posts for 2015. If you work out on a regular basis, do you remember that first day in the gym? Better yet, do you remember the day after? It was tough! But after one week, one month, three months, the results started to become visible and the gym didn’t seem like a chore anymore. In fact, it became fun!

Similarly, a social media strategy might seem like a pain at first. Posting daily content to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+ might seem downright dreadful, but, if you stick with it, I promise you will start to see results. And, once those results start, you’re not going to want to stop.

How to Write a Kick Ass Twitter Bio

Your first opportunity to convert a casual Twitter user to a follower, before they even have a chance to see your content, is your Bio.

Are you making a strong enough first impression to cut through the clutter and turn your visitors into followers?

So, what’s the hidden formula? How can you really write a kick-ass Twitter bio?

Sharing Content on Social Media Works..and this Staffing Firm’s Results Can Prove It

It’s time to have an honest conversation about Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Google+.

  • You are not too old to get started.
  • You are tech savvy enough to make it work to your advantage.
  • Social media is more than Candy Crush requests.
  • Social media can (and does) drive a ton of traffic back to websites.

Social media marketing works…and this article can prove it.

5 Lessons I Learned During My First Trip to Disney World

It’s been a long time coming, but at 24 years old I finally crossed visiting Disney World off my bucket list. And, while half of my mind is still upside down on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, the other half is back to work.

Working daily on social media and content marketing initiatives I’ve come to accept one major thing, content ideas come at very random times. So, it is no surprise that as I ran towards Space Mountain trying to keep up with my girlfriend, the premise of this article popped into my head.

Posting This Type of Content Will Get You 90% More Clicks on Your LinkedIn Posts

On one hand, I try to share content that I think my audience will want to see, click, and share.

On the other, I have Google Analytics, LinkedIn Insights, and trackable URLs telling me what my audience wants to see, click, and share.

Looking at the data taught me that these specific posts generate 90% more clicks on LinkedIn.

Setting a Goal for 2016

While it would mean doubling the amount of content I produced in 2015. I’m sticking with the challenge of producing one blog article every week, and will stick to that throughout 2016.
