Should Your Staffing Firm Have an Instagram Account?

Social media is constantly changing, and companies are faced with making decisions about what trends to implement and what social platforms are the best to reach their audience.

If you’re familiar with Instagram, this may not come as a surprise to you: According to SproutSocial, Instagram posts “generated a per-follower engagement rate of 4.21 percent. That means the app delivered brands 58 times more engagement per follower than Facebook and 120 times more engagement per follower than Twitter.”

It’s easy to understand how fashion or fitness brands can be successful on Instagram. They’re selling things that are easily shared via photos on this platform. It allows them to showcase their products and easily reach the users following them.

So, what does Instagram mean for the staffing and recruiting industries?

Instagram is a platform that allows your company to share images. It’s important to note that unlike many of the other social platforms, you are not able to share clickable links in the caption of each picture you post.

Depending on your goals, there are several ways you could consider using Instagram as a tool to build your online brand:

  • Recognize employees when they are placed on assignment.
  • Create an “Employee of the Week” post to celebrate employees on assignment who are doing well.
  • Create a “Top Candidate” post to feature top talent looking for an opportunity.
  • Showcase your company culture by sharing fun company events, such as birthdays, employee work anniversaries, or photos of your team participating in community and volunteer activities.

However, using Instagram simply to share photos isn’t likely to drive extensive traffic back to your website. If you are looking to use Instagram as a way to drive traffic or want to measure ROI, consider using advertising on this platform.
