By day, we’re marketing geeks. Computer nerds. Quirky writers and artists. And damn proud of it!

But after hours, our team members shed their marketing capes – and pursue all kinds of cool Hobbies, Interests and Talents (we call them HITs for short).

Here’s something amazing you probably didn’t know about Mackenzie Froese, an HMG Marketing Advisor:

HIT: Classically trained singer and performer

Back Story

I’ve been singing as long as I remember, but I became truly obsessed with it when I started singing in fourth grade choir.

I was told that I had talent, and I really loved to sing. So, I joined every club, musical, play or performance I could. My passion grew as I did, so I kept pursuing singing all through high school and college, where I began to seriously perform at a higher level.

Why do I enjoy most about singing?

I like having a talent that’s sort of secret. You’d never know about it unless you heard me! (Or unless you read this…)

I’m thankful for this talent, because I think it’s taken most of my shyness away. After all, you can’t be shy when you’re standing in front of an auditorium about to bust into an ear-shattering high note.

Despite all of this, you’re very unlikely to get me to do karaoke – so don’t be getting any ideas!

(Cue the mic drop):

When I was in my senior year of high school, I remember singing a particularly challenging solo. After my performance, a much younger student said to my music instructor, “I want to sound like her when I grow up.”

Probably my favorite compliment I’ve ever received.
