HIT: Soccer Obsessive

Back Story

I was born in Georgia (the country), so soccer has always kind of been ingrained in me, but I started really watching the sport in 2005 (ahead of the 2006 World Cup in Germany) and it grew from there.

Over the past decade or so, I’ve evolved into a soccer “obsessive,” and the sport now serves as a hobby, interest and inspiration for my artistic talents.

Why am I so passionate about soccer?

It’s a global language that just about everyone understands. It’s not limited to playing a sport, watching it on TV, or creating a piece of art; for me it’s so much more.

For example, soccer has allowed me to push the limits of my creativity in illustration works featured by the likes of ESPN, Howler Magazine, Hypebeast and more. People in the soccer world have often recognized my name and known of (or owned) my illustrations (like the one pictured at the top of this post), which makes me feel really good.

Soccer has also helped me give back. Through the years, I’ve been able to donate my artwork to a number of auctions to raise money for charity, and it’s been incredibly rewarding.
