The Road Map to Social Media Success: Conceptualizing Your Strategy

Conceptualizing Your Strategy

“The goal is not to be good at social media. The goal is to be good at business because of social media” – Jay Baer

When we look at the road map to social media success, it is critical to start at the end, by identifying our goals. What are we trying to accomplish? After all, if we start by deploying social media tactic after tactic without a true goal in mind, how will we know if the actions we are taking day after day are having an impact on our organization?

Once you have defined your goals, and have a firm understanding of what you’re trying to accomplish, it’s time to sit down and conceptualize your strategy.

Using the vacation analogy, if our goal is to go on vacation with our family, the strategy would be to get the family together at a defined destination.

When it comes to staffing and recruiting firms across the United States, most (if not all) organizations operate to reach two main goals:

  1. Generate Job Applications
  2. Generate Job Orders

With those two main goals identified, what strategies can we deploy to help us reach them?

How to Generate Job Applications

  1. Increase Job Board Visits
  2. Increase Website Contact Form Submissions
  3. Increase Telephone Calls to the Office
  4. Increase Emails from Candidates to Recruiters
  5. Increase Overall Website Visits
  6. Become an Employer of Choice
  7. Establish a Referral Program
  8. Attract New Candidates to the Website
  9. Activate Passive Candidates
  10. Reactivate Past Candidate
  11. Showcase Brand Identity

How to Generate Job Orders

  1. Increase Contact Form Submissions
  2. Increase Telephone Calls to the Office
  3. Increase 1-1 Contact with Hiring Managers
  4. Increase Website Visits to Service Pages on the Website
  5. Activate New Clients
  6. Become a Trusted Thought-Leader
  7. Establish Credibility
  8. Reactivate Past Clients through Skill Marketing
  9. Establish and Improve Brand Awareness
