Free Stock Photography Websites

Last summer I wrote a post discussing the benefits of using featured images for your blog posts. It still holds true, but it is understandable that you may not have have the time or resources to supply your own photos.

If you are a frequent blogger, it may also not be in your company’s budget to license images from premium stock photography websites. In order to increase the value and visibility of your blog posts I have compiled a small list of a few free stock photography websites to help you in your quest to produce the best possible content for your viewers.

Unsplash

https://unsplash.com/

Owned and operated by Medium.com, Unsplash is a giant in the free stock photography community. It offers high quality images and all images can be used for free, for both commercial and noncommercial purposes. You do not need to credit the photographer or unsplash, but they say it is very much appreciated.

Pexels

https://www.pexels.com/

Pexels is a great stock photography and video operated by Bruno Joseph, Ingo Joseph and Daniel Frese. You are allowed to modify and edit photos and no attribution is required. The photos can also be used for commercial and noncommercial use.

Burst

https://burst.shopify.com/

Burst by Shopify has thousands of royalty free images with the main goal of simply wanting to help people. Since the images can be used for both commercial and noncommercial use, Burst encourages you to say ‘thanks’ by giving credit when possible.
