Will you be attending Staffing World 2018 in Washington, DC? Haley Marketing will be there, ready to meet with clients, share our knowledge, learn as much as we can, and of course, have a bit of fun.  We thought it might be nice to introduce fellow attendees to the Haley Marketing team members who will be out and about in DC.

Brad Smith, Director of SEO and Social Media

Brad is an 11-year veteran of Staffing World, and he says, “I am always impressed with how the industry advances each and every year. There is always such excitement and engagement and a wealth of ideas shared.”

This year, Brad expects to hear a lot of talk about the candidate shortage, and he is “Looking forward to sharing insight into how a stronger digital presence can help solve some business challenges.” Brad is also excited to “Share thoughts and ideas about recruiting effectively and efficiently, using social media to reach passive job seekers, and breaking the dependence on job boards.”

In fact, that’s the topic of the presentation Brad will be giving alongside David Searns, CEO of Haley Marketing. On October 18 at 1:45 PM, Haley Marketing will be presenting Smart Marketing: 20 Quick Tips to Drive Dramatic Results.

In this informative, fast-paced workshop, you will learn about the 20 most common mistakes “bad marketers” make and the things “smart marketers” do differently to attract and convert candidates and more clients.  We hope to see you there!

Aside from his presentation and meeting Haley Marketing clients in person, Brad is most excited about the keynote speakers slated for this year. “I’m looking forward to hear Jeremy Gutsche talk about innovation and Molly Fletcher talk about inspiring game changers.”

Brad’s advice to new attendees is simple: Go to as many sessions as you can. “Don’t be afraid to ask questions,” he says. “Look for the top players in the staffing industry and learn from their mistakes and successes. It’s amazing at how many top leaders will be in the same place and open to sharing keen insights you can implement in your business.”

Expect the Unexpected at Staffing World

He also believes everyone should expect the unexpected. One of his favorite memories of past Staffing Worlds involved an aircraft carrier, an upside-down CEO and the Barenaked Ladies. “The closing gala in San Diego was held on an Aircraft carrier and we were treated to a flight simulator in which David Searns (CEO of Haley Marketing) spilled his business cards all over when we turned upside down and the simulator turned into a ‘snow globe’ full of his business cards. We then got front row seats to a private concert by the Barenaked Ladies (the band) right inside the aircraft carrier. What a great experience!”

Brad hopes everyone gets as much as they can from the unique experiences at Staffing World. “Some of our biggest product innovations have come as the result of discussions on the plane ride home from Staffing World events,” he says. “I’m just excited to see what we bring back this year. ”
