It’s Tax Season! What Are You Doing to Prepare Your Candidates?

Share this:

Here we are once again. One of the most stressful times of the year, tax season. Between collecting all your necessary paperwork and completing it properly, there is no time to make mistakes or misplace anything. With thousands of candidates running through your system, it’s hard to keep track of all the communication that can occur around W2s and other tax documents.

Here are four steps you can take to save time in candidate communication and how to keep your candidates informed during tax season.

Step 1: Write a blog post

If candidates can get their W2 online, write a blog post with step-by-step directions on how they can obtain these documents. Provide the proper links for them to follow, as well as the contact information for anyone on your team who can assist them is they need it. If the candidate needs to come into the office to obtain their W2, provide proper addresses, contact info and hours of operation. Once this blog is posted on your site, your team can use it for easy communication. If a candidate reaches out about accessing their documents, simply send them the link to the blog.

Step 2: Share information on social media

You can purpose your blog post in many ways. Sharing it on social media is a great way to get the word out for candidates on how to access these documents.

Step 3: Send out an informational email

Another great way to repurpose your tax blog is to share it in an email with the candidates in your database. Make sure to use a captivating headline so they are aware of the email’s importance. In the email, provide the same instructions from the blog. Whether they are accessing their W2 online, or picking it up at your office, this email is a great way to get the information they need directly into their inboxes.

Step 4: Add it into your email signatures

Adding the proper links and instructions to your email signature is a great way to ensure this information is accessible to the candidates you are contacting. You can post a link to the blog containing tax information or you can add a fun graphic with instructions to “click me for important W2 information.”

Tax season doesn’t have to be daunting for you, or your candidates. Some simple steps can help your business prepare its candidates for the months ahead.
