5 Brands Giving Back During COVID-19 in Creative Ways

A global pandemic? Who could’ve predicted this?

While we are in unprecedented times, it is no doubt as a global community we are coming together now more than ever to contribute to the health and wellness of the people around us.

The list could go on forever, but here are five brands that are giving back during COVID-19 in creative ways.

Door Dash

While the restaurant industry has been hit drastically by the coronavirus, Door Dash is making strides to ensure assistance to keeping these businesses up and running. Not only is Door Dash now offering no-contact deliveries, but the company has also waived commission fees.

On social media, Door Dash and Open For Deliver recently partnered with celebrities in their #DoYourPartChallenge where people can nominate those in need of food, and each celebrity pledges to donate meals to families and small businesses.

Udemy

Have extra time on your hands during quarantine? Udemy is offering a free resource center with courses to help you better yourself and learn new skills! Classes rand from fitness to time management, and WordPress to investing.

Under Armour

The message of togetherness is one that we feel as a global community, but one that Under Armour is committing to amid COVID-19.

The athletic wear company’s first initiative to giving back is their effort to creative surgical masks that do not require any sewing. Because of the no-sew feature, this allows masks to be mass-produced at a rapid rate. It is estimated that Under Armour will be able to produce 100,000 masks per week.

Next, Under Armour is committing to the mantras, “Through This Together,” and “Fight On Together” with their Healthy at Home Challenge. Between March 23rd – April 22nd, if you can log 12 workouts at least 20 minutes long in the Under Armour MapMyRun or MyFitnessPal apps, they will donate $1 million to Good Sports. Join this challenge today!

Peloton

At-home workouts are incredibly convenient during a time where all gyms and fitness centers are closed. When thinking of Peloton, its brand is often associated with its luxury price point. Right now, the app is offering a 90-day free trial if you would like to try their workouts. The workout range from meditation and yoga to cycling and strength classes. During a time of social distancing, Peloton works to bring a social aspect to a virtual community.

Peloton also has an ongoing monthly program called The Comeback. Over the last year, they’ve given away 400 bikes to those who have experienced an “uphill climb.” Recently, Peloton announced its newest giveaway, The Comeback: Front Line Edition. Through this, Peloton will donate an additional 100 Peloton Bikes to hospital and healthcare workers.

To nominate yourself or someone you know, submit your story by April 12th at 11:59 pm ET.

Crocs

A trend that, for me personally, will never go out of style. Crocs understands that their footwear is an essential need for many healthcare workers. The company has announced that it is donating 10,00 pairs of shoes per day to medical professionals.

To get your free pair of Classic clogs on them, get in line now!

But, that’s not it – you can do your part too! You can donate a pair to someone in need, too!

You Can Do Your Part

Whether it’s a monetary donation or just a helping hand, we can all do our part to give back to the global community. Donate groceries or a meal. Rake your neighbor’s leaves. Shovel their snow (yes – in Buffalo, we are talking SNOW in APRIL!) A little always goes a long way.
