Free and Low-Cost SEO Tips for Job Agency Sites

Share this:

Search engine optimization can be confusing and overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. Here are some simple things that you can do to improve the SEO on your staffing website:

1. Do Your Keyword Research

The best place to start is with your keywords and geo-modifiers. Understand your key markets and demographics so that you use terms that attract the right kind of traffic. There are many free (or low-cost) tools out there that you can use to determine which keywords you should focus on, such as UbersuggestWorktrackerahrefsSemrush, and more.

2. Produce Regular Content

Google is always looking for fresh content, and publishing unique, quality content on a regular basis is a great way to help increase your organic visibility. This can include creating new service pages, location pages, or blog posts/articles. Blog posts are great for staffing SEO because you can easily address topical challenges that job seekers and employers face.

Be sure to incorporate keywords into your content, but be careful not to overdo it – you don’t want the copy to sound spammy!

3. Optimize Existing Content

In addition to regularly adding new content to your website, it’s equally as important that you update the existing content. Job agency sites should reflect accurate, up-to-date information. As you optimize existing content, you can sprinkle in appropriate keywords and add internal links to help users easily navigate to other pages of your website.

4. Study Your Competitors

Take a look at your competitor’s websites to see what they’re doing. Are they blogging regularly? Have they built out service pages or location pages? What keywords do you see being used frequently on their site? Try to get a feel for what’s working for them and then see if you’re able to do something similar.

5. Optimize/Add Keywords to Job Descriptions

Staffing SEO goes beyond the website – it also applies to job boards and job descriptions. When you’re adding a new job, make sure that the job description incorporates keywords when appropriate.

6. Make Sure Your Website is Mobile Friendly

It’s no secret that mobile devices are becoming more and more popular as a leading source of traffic and conversions for job agency sites. You can check here to see if your site is currently mobile-friendly. If it’s not, work with your web developer to get that addressed as soon as possible.

7. Use Google Analytics to Track Your Progress

Google Analytics is a free tool that allows you to see how users interact with your website and track your progress over time. You can see data including top pages, average time on site, how users are coming to your site, and much more.

8. Use a Favicon

A favicon is a small icon that serves as branding for your website, typically used on web browsers to represent a website. Adding a favicon as simple as your company logo is a great way to build your brand.

9. Stay on Top of SEO Trends

Staffing SEO is ever-changing, so make sure you stay on top of the latest trends by browsing SEO forums, subscribing to SEO blogs, and more.
