Instagram Best Practices for Staffing & Recruiting Companies

Share this:

Come and gone are the days of operating your business off the “grid,” and when I say “grid,” I don’t mean the kind you immediately think of – I’m referring to your Instagram grid. You may be asking, does my staffing company really have a need for Instagram? Yes, it does!

Instagram gives your company another landing page for clients’ and candidates’ eyes alike. It gives them a chance to preview your company and decide if you’re the right fit for them. Here are the top three things to keep in mind while managing your staffing company’s Instagram account.

1.) Create Content Consistently

Think about who you follow on Instagram. Following an account that only posts once every few months doesn’t seem like an account worth following. Posting consistently fills your account with important information, resources for your clients/candidates and becomes another valued place of content.

Our expert tip: Create a content calendar where you decide on your number of posts per week and what “content bucket” you’ll be pulling from. As an example, Monday Motivation with an inspirational quote, or Testimonial Tuesday with a testimonial from a client/candidate.

2.) Post with a Purpose

Just because it’s important to post consistent content, it doesn’t mean you should post anything willy-nilly. Make sure everything you’re posting offers something of value. For example, you could share a “Pre-Interview Checklist” to prepare your candidates, or you could post an employer testimonial about a successful placement (these act as reviews for potential new clients to read).

3.) Engage with your Audience

If you’re using this platform to connect with your clients and candidates, you’ll want to make sure you’re actually engaging with them. Answer every question, comment, or direct message you can (even if it’s negative!) Something as simple as “Hey there X, we’re really sorry you had an unpleasant experience. Can we follow up with you over DM?” can make a world of difference. This also gives you the ability to have a potentially unpleasant conversation in private rather than on full view to your following.
