Client Background and Challenge

Carlton Staffing has been providing staffing solutions to Houston, Dallas and Fort Worth companies for over three decades, focusing on a number of industries including administrative, accounting and light industrial. Recognized as a Best of Staffing firm every year since 2012 for providing excellent service to their clients, Carlton has developed strong name recognition in the market. To continue building on their recent success, they were looking for new ways to connect with job seekers – ways that would facilitate direct connections between recruiters and candidates.

Their team knew the power of social media, but they lacked the time and resources to devote to an effective day-to-day strategy. Carlton automated the process of posting jobs on social media by having Indeed push new job postings to Carlton’s Facebook and Twitter pages. While this automation saved time, it wasn’t increasing qualified applicants.

The desire to leverage social media in a more meaningful way to make connections with talented job seekers is what brought Carlton Staffing to Haley Marketing Group.

The Solution

The social media team at Haley Marketing recommended Social Pro, a full-service, customized social media strategy and execution program designed to improve social engagement, generate more traffic and increase inbound leads.

Part of the strategy involved new ways to increase direct applications. Our team identified Facebook as an ideal resource for Carlton Staffing. By leveraging Facebook Jobs, our client could reach more people and provide a positive candidate experience on both desktop and mobile.

For two weeks, our team ran seven of Carlton Staffing’s light industrial job openings through Facebook Jobs. Each posting included the job title, a job description, pay, available hours and branded Carlton Staffing images. Of those seven postings, four were chosen to be shared with select Houston-based Facebook Groups catering to job seekers.

The Results

Did Carlton Staffing receive any response from this new approach? In just the first two days, our client received 109 applications through Facebook Jobs. Over the course of the two-week test, all seven postings received a total of 562 applications directly through the platform.

Overall, their Social Pro strategy yielded impressive results:

  • 858% increase in website traffic from Facebook from April – May
  • 33% decrease in bounce rate – From 67.33% to 45.06%
  • 613 completed applications for May – a record high
  • 49 new Facebook likes in May
