SEO Best Practices: How Do I Incorporate Keywords Within My Website Content?

SEO Structure For Google
Share this:

To have a successful SEO campaign, you must incorporate the right keywords strategically throughout your website. Without the proper use of keywords, your website has no way of getting on the first page of the search engines, which means that you’ll miss out on website traffic, and even business.

So how you know if you’re using the right keywords? And how do you know if you’ve optimized your website to include them the right way? Read on to learn more.

How to Choose the Right Staffing Keywords

A good place to start is by doing some keyword research. You’ll want to think about what your target audience might be searching in order to find your website, or what sorts of issues/dilemmas they could be facing that would require your services. You’ll want to make sure that your keywords aren’t overly broad, but you also don’t want them to be so specific that almost no one searches those terms.

With staffing, most website traffic typically consists of clients looking to fill job orders or candidates looking for jobs. For example, if you’re a staffing firm that focuses mainly on temporary or contract positions, you might want to use keywords like:

  • Temporary staffing
  • Contract-to-hire jobs
  • Temporary workers
  • Temporary staffing agency

One of the most effective (and free) tools for keyword research is actually Google itself. You can search for terms like “staffing agency” and scroll to the bottom of the results page to find related terms. This can give you a better idea of what types of keywords/phrases people are commonly using to find staffing firms. Some other great tools for keyword research include SEMRush, Moz Pro, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console.

How to Incorporate Your Keywords the Right Way

You’ll want to make sure that whatever keywords you choose are strategically incorporated throughout your website. Here are a few top tips for proper keyword optimization:

  • Avoid keyword stuffing – When you overload a page or pages with keywords, it comes across as spammy not only to the user, but also to the search engine, which can have negative impacts on your SEO.
  • Use latent semantic indexing (LSI) keywords – Search engines use LSI to determine similar terms. For instance, “attorney” and “lawyer” will produce the same results in Google due to LSI. Try to incorporate similar variations of your desired keywords. If your keyword is “staffing firm,” you can also use “staffing agency,” “staffing company,” and “recruiter” within your content. This can also help you avoid keyword stuffing.
  • Use keywords only on relevant pages – If you add a keyword to a webpage, make sure that the page relates back to that specific term. For example, if you had a Payrolling page that talks about your payroll services that you offer to clients, you wouldn’t really want that page to be optimized for a keyword like “temporary jobs.” Instead, it would be better to include keywords like “payroll staffing firm” or “staffing payroll services.”
  • Put the keywords in different places – Of course, you’ll want to make sure that the keywords are incorporated throughout your website content. But you’ll also want to include keywords in your headings, subheadings, title tags, meta descriptions, and even images. Just make sure you use the keywords strategically to avoid keyword stuffing.
