6 Simple Ways to Increase Productivity in Your Home Office

Working from home has its pros and cons. On the one hand you have no commute and get to work in the comforts of your own space. On the other hand, it can be difficult to create a space that is detached from the rest of your home, so you have the least amount of distractions.

I currently work from home twice a week. I found the following aspects of a home office space are important to me for my productivity.

Privacy. make sure your space is separated from the rest of your home, to reduce distractions.

Daylight. let plenty of natural sunlight into your workspace.

Fresh air. open windows. let a nice fresh breeze run through your office. invest in some plants to help bring the outdoors in.

Organization. get rid of clutter. not only for less distractions on your desk, but you won’t be focusing on the mess.

Multiple Monitors. increase multitasking by investing in at least a second monitor. have email correspondence and notes on one, while your main work is on another.

Comfort. Make sure the chair you do work in, is comfortable and ergonomic. adjust your monitor(s) so your neck is not straining to view them.
