Upping our search engine game.
In June, Google announced a new way to get jobs into their organic search engine; the Indexing API for job posting URLS. This new API lets us tell Google when there is a new or updated jobs for them to re-scan, to index, and add the job to their search results. This works in conjunction with formatted comments hidden on the job description web page, what Google calls job posting structured data.
We have been applying structured data markup to all the jobs we post for several years now, and as of July 23rd, we are also rolling out support for the new Indexing API. In the first few weeks of limited release, the clients using the new indexing feature have seen spikes in Google driven traffic. It’s a little early to call this a game changer, but the early results are encouraging.
Over the next few months we will be rolling this integration out to everyone posting jobs through Haley Marketing Group. If you’d like to have your company considered for early access to our newest products and enhancements, give a shout out below. We are looking for partners who are open to new ideas and are willing to provide feedback on their experience.
