5 Effective Ways to Target Your Facebook Ads

Share this:

To date, Facebook has over 2 billion monthly active users. All over the world, people are scrolling through their feeds just like you. With such a vast user base, it’s important to think carefully about how your staffing company will reach your specific target audience. Luckily, with Facebook ads, there are a lot of options!

Here are five targeting tactics that will come in handy:

1. Demographics

Facebook provides the option to target users by demographics such as job titles, employers and industry – AKA the bread and butter of the recruiting industry! This is a great way to target passive job seekers, as you can dial in on the exact type of professionals that you’re looking for.

2. Interests

Targeting by interests is another great way to reach your target audience. These tend to be broader in scope, which can be helpful for niche markets or more general job seeker targeting. For example, using interests such as “temporary work” or “job hunting” can help you reach users who are more likely to take note of your ads for open positions.

3. Lists

Does your staffing firm have an ATS list? A newsletter list? Use those to your advantage! These can easily be uploaded into Facebook Business Manager. Facebook’s software will match the data in your list to its own database, which allows you to target those who are already familiar with your services. Just make sure your data is formatted correctly!

4. Connections

One way to drill your audience down even further is to add users to your audience who have previously engaged with your Facebook Page. For instance, include people who have already liked your page or responded to an event. You also have the option to exclude these people if you want to focus on an audience unfamiliar with your company.

5. The Facebook Pixel

There’s a lot that can be said about the Facebook Pixel, but one way to use it is to retarget users who have already visited your website. Remarketing to people who have some familiarity with your services will help build brand awareness and keep you top-of-mind so they come back for more, making this last tactic extremely effective.
