What Are Your Goals, And How Will You Measure Them?

Share this:

You post daily to social media, update your website regularly with fresh content, and send out emails monthly. But how do you know if what you are doing is effective? Is it helping your business achieve its goals? When it comes to answering these questions, it is important to clearly understand your goals. From there, you can determine what your Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are.

What Are SMART Goals?

SMART goals are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and timebound. The first step is making sure you have a goal that is straightforward and easy to understand. You also want to make sure it is measurable. An example of this is you like to increase applications by 20% in Q2. Are your goals reasonable and something you can achieve in a fair amount of time? It is also essential to have the resources necessary to achieve your goals realistically. And lastly, you will want to set a specific timeframe.

What Are KPIs?

Once you know your SMART goals, you can now determine the KPIs. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are metrics that help you determine whether your current strategies are helping your business achieve its goals. Depending on what your goals are, there are different metrics you can focus on. Setting the right KPIs will help you track progress. KPIs will help you determine if you are on track to meet your goals or if adjustments are needed. A few examples include:

  • Organic website traffic
  • Number of job applications completed
  • Form completions
  • Website traffic from social media
  • Traffic to your blog
