The Haley Marketing team is looking forward to this year’s Staffing World 2021 conference, and we’re so excited to see our colleagues in person and meet some of you that we’ve only spoken to through Zoom calls. Before we head to Denver, we’d love to introduce you to a few members of the Haley Marketing team that will be attending.
Get to Know Brad Smith, Chief Strategy Officer
Brad has been attending Staffing World for many years and looks forward to meeting in-person once again this year. We asked him what advice he would give to someone attending for the first time. “Be active,” Brad says. “Go to as many events as possible and plan out your day ahead of time. Collectively, the vendors work with thousands of staffing agencies and have amazing insights and best practices they can share. Leverage that experience and take it back to your own staffing company.”
As much value as the vendors provide, Brad also encourages first-time attendees to strike up conversations with those around them. “While the speakers are truly amazing, sometimes the insight you get from others in your seat is what truly makes a difference,” he says.
At this year’s conference, Brad expects to hear a lot about everything tied to the candidate experience, including job boards, candidate intake, automation, employment branding, retention, redeployment, training and development, and more. He’s most excited to be in a live learning environment again and to hear directly from people about their businesses and how they’ve adapted in recent times.
Brad spoke at another staffing conference the last time he was in Denver, and he looks forward to returning to one of his favorite cities. The last time he was there, there was record snowfall and he was able to have his family fly out for some top-notch skiing! Brad also got to check out Red Rocks Amphitheater and Dinosaur Ridge, and they enjoyed a quick trip to Boulder and Rocky Mountain National Park.
Brad’s other interests include adventuring (he once had the chance to cage dive with great white sharks in South Africa!) and sports. He’s a self-described beer-league hockey player with David, but his true passion is lacrosse. Brad is also a die-hard Buffalo Bills fan and will even have the chance to be on the sidelines for a few games this year as a Video Injury Review Specialist!
