IT research and advisory firm Computer Economics (CE) issued its 20th annual survey on IT spending and found several sectors that are increasing their spending over last year.
Higher Growth IT Sectors Include:

Banking and Finance
Spending is expected to grow around 4.9 percent this year -
Health Care Providers
An increase in their spending is pegged at 4.7 percent this year -
Professional and Technical Service Firms
Growth projected 4.0 percent -
Utilities and Energy
Plan an increase of up to 1.3 percent
According to CE, these findings are based on an in-depth survey of more than 200 IT executives. The survey focuses on forecasts in budgets, staffing, and technology plans for 2009-2010. A roughly equal sampling of small, medium, and large companies across various industries was surveyed.
