Think you know how to recruit 20-something job candidates? Think it’s all about Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn? Think again!
I just read a blog post by Brendan Shields of ERE media in which he recapped a panel discussion with young job seekers that was held at last month’s ERE Expo. The discussion was intended to discover what job seekers are really seeking, and here are some of the surprising findings Brendan shared:
- Only one of the job seekers on the panel used LinkedIn.
- They were hesitant to be contacted by Facebook and SMS
(they find these channels to be impersonal and unprofessional). - If you’re sending text messages at 9:00 p.m., they take it as a sign that they’ll be working at that hour too.
