Staffing SEO Project: Bayside Staffing Solutions

Bayside Staffing Solutions, a staffing and recruiting firm headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area has has several divisions that focus on recruiting and staffing in niche industries, including:

  • Technology / IT
  • Scientific / Biotech
  • Engineering
  • Construction
  • Manufacturing
  • Greentech / Renewable Energy

The challenge was building brand awareness for each division and driving more targeted traffic from both job seekers and employers. Haley Marketing developed a full-scale Search Engine Optimization plan that included updates to meta data, on-page text, URL structure, inter-site linking, a blog and an ongoing content development plan.  We analyzed the monthly website traffic from April 2010 compared to April 2011 to gauge ROI of the combined SEO efforts.  Here are some of the key findings:

  • An 116% increase in monthly traffic
  • A 75% increase in monthly Google search traffic
  • In April , 2011 there were 850 different keywords driving traffic to the website compared to just 261 in 2010

To better define the true ROI of these efforts we took a closer look at keyword traffic.  We eliminated keywords that reflected the company name and were left with very targeted keywords such as:

  • Bay area green technology recruiter
  • Green tech recruiters
  • Architectural staffing San Francisco
  • Bay area recruiters
  • Bay area temp agencies
  • San Francisco recruiting agencies
  • Engineering staffing in San Francisco
  • Scientific staffing agencies

Essentially, we accounted only for the keywords that related to the types of services this staffing and recruiting firm offered.  This list represents all the prospects that arrived at the website due to search engine optimization efforts.  On average, this website now receives roughly 600 visits each month from people that are looking for the specific staffing and recruiting services offered.

Dollar Value of SEO Traffic
To put the value of this traffic in context, we used Google Adwords to determine the total cost of buying clicks (the sponsored, pay-per-click search results) from a similar set of keywords.  On average, the cost per click was $1.96.  At an average of 600 visits per month the total estimated value of SEO traffic is $1,176 per month.
