In the past, Google has said they want to include Social Interaction in their search relevancy results and Google +1 may be the answer. Needless to say, Google+ could have a big effect on search engine optimization for staffing and recruiting firms.
Your Social Connections Could Influence Your Search Habits
Anyone searching Google can now “recommend” a search result which provides a vote of confidence for that page. The more people that recommend your page, the more relevant it becomes. As more and more of your social connections begin recommending pages, you’ll begin seeing that in search results. The video below provides more detail:
So, for a staffing firm, the more people that +1 their website, the more relevant it becomes and the more social influence that website has. So building +1’s could have a dramatic impact, not only on where you rank in search results, but how “trusted” your website is. If you’re a job seeker looking for an employment agency and agency A is “recommended” by 4 people in your social circle and agency B has no recommendations, who would you choose?
So what I’m getting at is the “little guys” have a big opportunity to gain ground in local, personalized search.
