Staffing World 2018, presented by the American Staffing Association, is almost here and the Haley Marketing team couldn’t be more excited to get there.
Before we take off for DC, we wanted to take a moment to introduce you to the team members you’ll see if you are attending the conference.
Meet David Searns, CEO of Haley Marketing Group
David Searns has become a fixture at Staffing World conferences as both an attendee and a presenter. Just how many has he attended? According to David, “I’ve run out of fingers to count,” but his favorite memory of Staffing Worlds past is the year Haley Marketing won its first Crystal Award from ASA. Haley has won many awards since, but the first award was an honor he will not forget. David also said that anyone wanting some of his other favorite memories should grab him for a drink as he refuses to share them in a blog post (we think that might be worth your time).
Though he has been to Staffing World many times, David’s excitement for the event never wanes. This year, he is most looking forward to “Seeing our clients in person, sharing ideas with other leaders in the industry, and cramming my head full of knowledge from all the speakers!”
When asked what Staffing World attendees can learn from him, David said, “How not to act your age?” Then, our in-house Peter Pan got serious. “Actually, I’m hoping to share ideas about recruitment marketing and some of the latest strategies we’re putting into action to attract more passive job seekers, improve ROI on recruitment advertising, and maybe most importantly, to engage candidates and get more people to complete job applications.”
Right now, recruiting is a major challenge for staffing firms across the country. The talent market is the tightest we’ve seen in decades and David expects to hear a lot of talk about, “Recruiting, recruiting, recruiting.”
In fact, that’s one of the topics David will be covering at Staffing World alongside Brad Smith, Director of SEO and Social Media at Haley Marketing. On October 18 at 1:45 PM, Haley Marketing will be presenting Smart Marketing: 20 Quick Tips to Drive Dramatic Results.

Whether you’re a first-time attendee or a seasoned veteran, plan your schedule in advance to get the most out of the experience. Sadly, David will not have much time to sightsee in DC because, in addition to his speaking duties and attending talks, he has blocked time to hold one-on-one meetings with staffing firms interested in learning how they can leverage smart marketing strategies to recruit more candidates.
