Time flies and it’s hard to believe that the American Staffing Association’s Staffing World is upon us once again. It’s even harder to believe that our own Ryan Maher is making his sixth trip to the conference. If you are attending Staffing World, we hope you will look up Ryan to talk about your marketing challenges.
About Ryan Maher, Marketing Consultant
Having attended five previous Staffing World conferences, Ryan is officially a seasoned veteran. His advice to newbies? “When you take notes, star what you think is actionable right away this year. Rank those in order of importance, and commit to implementing the top 3 when you get back. Too many great ideas are lost by the time your return flight lands!”
While at Staffing World, Ryan hopes to share his marketing expertise with as many people as possible. He’s anxious to teach people, “the difference between what sounds good, and what actually works when it comes to marketing. I’ve consulted hundreds of staffing clients and I continue to learn from both their failures and their successes,” he said.
Ryan loves sharing his knowledge, but he’s also at Staffing World to learn as much as possible from other attendees. He said, “As much as I get excited to share everything I learn about what’s working, my primary interest is in learning what everyone else is doing and what’s working – or not working – for them. So whether you want to swing by to brag about your successes, or share your biggest challenges, I want to hear exactly what you’re seeing and doing.”
If time allows, Ryan hopes to catch a few of the inspiring sights around DC. “I’ve been to DC a few times,” he said, “and the Lincoln Memorial left an indelible impression. Seeing the man immortalized and reading the words he led our great country with will always keep me grounded in American ideals. His intelligence, tenacity and courage are a constant source of inspiration.”
Ryan is expecting to hear a lot of talk about artificial intelligence (AI), recruitment marketing and the candidate experience. In addition to meeting new people and forging new connections, Ryan is most looking forward to, “Jeremy Gutsche’s keynote. Finding better ideas and implementing them faster is pretty much what any innovator wants – and innovation is a requirement given how competitive staffing has become,” he said.
What is Ryan’s favorite memory of previous Staffing World events? “The Barenaked Ladies playing on the USS Midway a couple years ago in San Diego. It’s pretty hard to top doing 360s in a flight simulator followed by dinner and a rock show!”
