“It won’t happen here.”

“I just hope everyone (else) will be alright.”

“This can’t be real.”

“What am I going to do?”

We didn’t see this coming. Just a few months ago, most of us had never even heard of COVID-19.

Now, we’re faced with statewide shelter-in-place orders. Closed business. Unprecedented economic challenges. And an uncertain future.

There’s no playbook for a black swan event.

While nobody knows precisely how long or large this crisis will be, the past offers many lessons for how to get through it.

Haley Marketing has been around for nearly 25 years; during this time we’ve helped staffing and recruiting firms navigate two recessions – and come out on the other end stronger. If we’ve learned anything over the past quarter century, it’s this:

Businesses that plan carefully and market aggressively during a downturn recover faster from, and can even thrive in, turbulent economic times.

Today, I’m starting a series of posts in which we share practical advice to help you create your firm’s COVID-19 recovery playbook – and emerge stronger and more competitive on the other side.

If yours is one of the fortunate few niches whose business is positively impacted by this crisis, count your blessings. But if not…

Now is not the time for fear or panic.

It’s not time to slash prices in a desperate attempt to keep sales.

It’s not time to hunker down and wait for the storm to pass.

It’s time to create your playbook for success – and make this recession “the other guy’s problem.”

To help, I’ll be sharing lessons in coming days from our latest eBook, “Strategies for a Changed World: Creating Your Playbook for Success,” available for free download here.

Visit our COVID-19 Recovery Resources page for more free business strategy and marketing ideas to survive – and even thrive – in this economy.

And of course, if there’s anything more we can do to help your staffing or recruiting firm right now, please email me at [email protected] or call us at 888.696.2900.

We’ll get through this together!
