In the latest Staffing Supply & Demand Outlook, CareerBuilder forecast modest improvement in the demand for temporary and contract staffing services. While the gains are relatively small, they do reflect a strengthening of the demand for staffing services–and hopefully a further sign of economic recovery.
Most surprising in the CareerBuilder data is that growth for staffing services is projected to be greatest among large employers (those will more than 500 employees). In fact, staffing demand from small firms is still forecast to be declining–although the declines are slight.
In past recessions, small business have typically been the first employers to hire; however, according to data from Simply Hired, this recession appears to reverse the trend with job growth strongest among larger employers.
