“The latest update to News Feed ranking treats text status updates from Pages as a different category to text status updates from friends….Page admins can expect a decrease in the distribution of their text status updates, but they may see some increases in engagement and distribution for other story types.”

A New Change for 2014
In an almost comical way, just as I was writing a recent article titled Can Your Company Compete in Facebook’s News Feed, Chris Turitzin, Product Manager, News Feed Ranking, released an announcement that changes the way companies will behave on the platform (kind of).
In their recent announcement, Facebook confirmed a belief that a high portion of social media marketers and Facebook users already held true; Facebook users enjoy visually appealing content over standard text-based posts.
Recent analytics pulled by Haley Marketing Group, reiterate this concept.
What Does this Mean for Your Staffing Firm?
Put simply, graphics are now essential if you want to compete with the other 1.19 billion Facebook users. Gone are the days when simply logging in and publishing a quick text-based job listing or career-advice post could generate significant visibility for your page. Now, to compete and ensure your audience continues to see your Facebook posts, images and video are extremely necessary.
Where Can You find FREE Graphics?
If you don’t have a subscription to a photo database such as Thinkstock or a background in Photoshop, this recent update may have you wondering how you will be able to include graphics with your posts.
Free use platforms such as Morguefile, Flickr, and Microsoft PowerPoint provide users the ability to access thousands of images for free. It is my recommendation to become familiar with these resources and make them a full-time integration to your social media marketing strategy.
How Can Haley Marketing Group Help?
At Haley Marketing Group we now offer the use of graphics into our social sharing programs.
