In planning for a down economy in 2009, many leaders and marketing executives have taken a closer look at their investments and the ROI associated with each marketing tactic.  So what did they find out? 

A recent poll conducted by MarketingSherpa found that electronic media plays a crucial role in lead nurturing and lead generation:

According to MarketingSherpa’s research:
“The bubbles show the relative importance of specific marketing tactics in lead generation and lead nurturing. The ‘x’ axis shows the percentage of marketers who said a tactic makes a major contribution to lead generation. The ‘y’ axis shows the percentage of marketers who said a tactic makes a major contribution to lead nurturing. Finally, the size of each bubble represents the percentage of marketers who engage in each tactic.”

So what does this mean for staffing firms? 
In addition to traditional sales methods, staffing firms can use electronic media as a cost effective tool.  Email marketing can be leveraged as a way to stay top-of-mind with current clients and prospects and educate people about the value of using staffing services (especially in a down economy).  

Further, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) can be a great way to drive new traffic to your website from prospects and candidates who may not yet know your organization but are looking for the exact services you offer.
