I wanted to share a great marketing  success story from one of my clients.  This client, located in Cleveland, implemented an email and social media marketing campaign with Haley Marketing about a year ago.  We also recently added a blog to their website.

One of the main goals of these campaigns was to drive traffic to their website.  To say that it was a success would be an understatement!

Luckily for us, the client had installed Google Analytics in their website a year prior to starting with Haley so we had a great side by side comparison of two years.  One without any email or social media marketing and one with.  (By the way, if you haven’t added Google Analytics to your site, do it now!  It is a great tool for measuring your marketing and SEO efforts, and it’s free!)  So let’s take a look inside the numbers…

In the view below you can see the past year (with email/social media) represented by the blue line and the previous year by the green line.  Since we have implemented their marketing this client has seen an almost 100% increase in their web traffic.  What is also good to see is a 32% increase in new visitors.  These are people who would otherwise have not found out about this client if not for their marketing efforts.

The next bit of data that I wanted to share was on their referring sites.  These are sites that link back directly to their site.

#2 – HaleyMail – Their second highest referring site was from their email marketing landing page.  Over 1,100 visits in the past year!
#3 – Facebook – 811 visits directly from Facebook in the past year.  If their FB page didn’t exist, would these people have found them?
#4 – Job Board – This was our job board that we created for them.  So not only are people visiting their job board but they are also clicking back into their main website after visiting the job board.

#8 – Simply Hired

Their Email Marketing and Facebook page are bringing 6x as much traffic to their site as Monster and Simply Hired combined!

The final statistic that I wanted to share is what I think is the most telling stat about the effectiveness of regular email and social media marketing.

In the past year, my client had 15,000 direct visitors to their site.  That means that visitors typed their url into a browser and went right to the site.  Also, the top 75 keywords that people used in a search engine to access their site were some variable of their name and location!  That means that people are aware of my client and doing direct searches for them specifically.  In total, 18,582 visits to their site were by visitors who were specifically looking for my client.

Of course the big picture goal of any marketing is to get more business.  But one of the ways that happens is through relationship marketing and brand recognition. This is a textbook case of email and social media marketing doing exactly what they are intended to do.  I am so proud of our team knowing that our efforts are paying off for clients like this.
