Not everyone is this lucky…and for the staffing industry it is a huge challenge to place people in a position that fits them. That they want to return to everyday. To be able to align people and resources to the right place at the right time is an obstacle every recruiter can relate to.
So what can you do to change the way people are placed in jobs. What are the right questions to ask to achieve a successful placement for themselves and the applicant? Are the standard questions really the way to go? What’s your biggest strength/weakness? Why should we hire you? Or, should you ask questions that help you really get to know the candidate so you can find the best fit? What do you really want to do? What are you passionate about? What are the abilities and skills you really want to leverage? What sort of company culture do you want to immerse myself in? What will make your days fly by instead of drag on? What is your professional mission statement?
These types of questions may not be the norm but why not change how we face placement adversity. As a candidate, you want to look for companies that ask you these types of questions, too! It shows that they are really trying to make a perfect fit and not just fill an empty seat.
