Grab Job Seekers’ Attention! Fresh Visuals and Content for Your Social Media and Blog

Share this:

With millions of pieces of content being published every minute on a myriad of social media channels, it’s difficult to stand out from the herd.

Every staffing firm needs a great content plan to build their brand, stay top of mind, and attract clients and candidates, but that’s easier said than done. Some firms even wonder: Do we still need to blog when everyone else is doing it too?

The answer is YES.

Your clients and candidates have questions. By providing answers on your blog, you position yourself as a thought leader in your field and increase the likelihood that your answers will appear in searches for that topic. Over time, your rank search rank will improve.

By committing to your blog, you can:

  • Capture the attention of clients and candidates
  • Give passive candidates a reason to reach out to you
  • Create inbound traffic to your website
  • Re-engage your talent bench
  • Nurture relationships with employers and job seekers
  • Dominate social media
  • Provide resources to enhance sales calls

But that doesn’t mean it’s easy to come up with fresh images and topics, day after day, week after week, year after year.

Mackenzie Froese, Director of Content Marketing, has key ideas for how to get the attention of your target audience with eye-catching images and thumb-stopping topics.

Froese says her clients’ conversations center around filling open job orders. Employers are already struggling to recruit a sluggish workforce, and it might get even more difficult as we head into the holiday season. Letting your audience know you’re hiring isn’t always enough when everyone else is hiring, too. Froese recommends creating a short video highlighting a hot job or a top recruiter to catch job seekers’ attention.

As for images, “Landscapes, babies, and food perform best,” Froese says. It’s back-to-school time, and many clients are trying to be proactive about hiring seasonal help. Consider a cute kitten decked out in holiday garb and brandishing a “Now Hiring!” banner to make job seekers pause long enough to read your message.

Looking for blog ideas?

Froese recommends finding a theme to connect your topics. Expand on your theme and organically lead your audience from topic to topic. Other idea generators:

  • Industry blogs. Discover trending topics and craft your take on the subject.
  • Thought leaders. Follow HR and hiring blogs to keep up with current events and breaking news.
  • Your team. Focus your team for a quick brainstorm.
